Title:    A correct Chart of the Mediterranean Sea, from the Straits of Gibraltar to the Levant; From the latest and best Observations: for Mr. Tindal’s Continuation of Mr. Rapin’s History..

Description:    A large and attractive hand colored 1745 sea chart of the entire Mediterranean region. Drawn in considerable detail with most ports clearly labeled. Large title cartouche in the lower left quadrant. Rumb lines throughout with a decorative compass rose at center. An inset depicts “The Road to Leghorn” or Livorno harbor.

Cartographer:    R. W. Seale was active as a map publisher and engraver in mid 18th century London. He worked with many of the more prominent English cartographers of his day including Sayer and Boulton. Click here for a list of rare maps from R. W. Seale.

Size:   Printed area measures 28.5 x 14 inches (72.39 x 35.56 centimeters)

Condition:    Very Good condition. Extremely minor discoloration on original folds, else clean and beautiful with wide intact margins.
