Description: This is an impressive folding pocket map of England and Wales by the venerable English map publishing firm Philips. Formally titled, “Philips’ Travelling Map of England”. Produced under the editorial management of Professor William Hughes (1817-1876). Presented on 30 beautifully hand colored panels mounted on linen.

Cartographer: George Philip (1800-1882) founded his map publishing firm in Liverpool, England, in 1832. The firm, which still exists, is became one of England’s most prominent publishing houses.
